There is something special about packing up the vehicle, choosing a playlist, and heading out of Toronto for a weekend adventure. Whether you are planning a relaxing lakeside getaway, a scenic drive through Ontario’s countryside, or a fun-filled family trip, the right vehicle makes the experience even better. With comfortable interiors, smart technology, and available all-wheel drive on select models, Kia vehicles are well-suited for Ontario road trips. If you are searching for the perfect Toronto road trips, here are a few destinations that deserve a spot on your travel list.
If your idea of a great getaway includes forests, lakes, and scenic highways, the Algoma region is one of Ontario’s most rewarding drives. The route north feels like an adventure in itself, especially as city landscapes turn into stretches of towering evergreens and stunning views of Lake Superior.
Many travellers stop in Elliot Lake, a peaceful Northern Ontario destination surrounded by hiking trails and beautiful lakes. Outdoor lovers can enjoy kayaking, fishing, or scenic lookouts like the Fire Tower trail. During the fall, the changing leaves turn the landscape into a mix of gold, orange, and red.
A road trip like this calls for comfort, especially over long distances. SUVs like the Kia Sportage or Kia Sorento offer spacious seating, cargo flexibility, and modern connectivity features that help make longer drives more enjoyable.
For drivers looking to slow things down, Manitoulin Island delivers the kind of peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds away from Toronto. Reached either by ferry from Tobermory or through Little Current, the island offers quiet beaches, scenic walking trails, and charming small-town stops.
Providence Bay is perfect for a waterfront stroll, while Bridal Veil Falls in Kagawong provides one of the most memorable photo opportunities in the region. Visitors can also explore Indigenous culture and local traditions through museums and community events.
A comfortable road trip vehicle matters here, especially when carrying camping gear, picnic essentials, or luggage for a weekend stay. Kia SUVs provide practical cargo flexibility while helping everyone stay comfortable during the journey.
For fans of Canadian television, exploring the filming locations from Schitt’s Creek makes for a memorable day trip. Stops in Mono and Goodwood let visitors experience familiar spots from the show, including the Rosebud Motel backdrop and the iconic Rose Apothecary storefront.
The route is filled with rolling hills, local shops, and charming small towns that feel straight out of a postcard. It is the kind of road trip where the journey becomes just as entertaining as the destination.
Features like smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ available in many Kia models help keep navigation, playlists, and podcasts easily accessible along the way.
Sometimes, the best road trips are the ones closest to home. The Scarborough Bluffs offer dramatic waterfront views that feel more coastal than city. With towering cliffs overlooking Lake Ontario, it is an ideal location for an afternoon picnic, a walk by the water, or simply enjoying the scenery.
Because it is so close to Toronto, this destination works perfectly for drivers looking for a quick weekend outing without committing to a long drive.
Elora and Kingston both offer a different kind of Ontario experience. Elora charms visitors with boutique shops, riverside cafés, and the breathtaking Elora Gorge, while Kingston blends history, waterfront views, and lively local culture.
These destinations are ideal for couples, families, or friends looking for an overnight getaway. Whether you are exploring trails or relaxing downtown, having a reliable Kia road trip vehicle helps make every kilometre more enjoyable.
Ontario is full of unforgettable weekend destinations, and the right vehicle can make every trip even better. Whether you are heading north to Algoma, exploring Manitoulin Island, or discovering hidden gems closer to home, Kia SUVs offer the comfort, versatility, and confidence many drivers look for on the road.
